Welcome to the Town of Union Public Works Department Page
Public Works is defined by the American Public Works Association (APWA) as the combination of physical assets, management practices, policies, and personnel necessary for government to provide and sustain structures and services essential to the welfare and acceptable quality of life for its citizens. The Union Public Works Department provides basic infrastructure services to Union residents. Our goal is to provide those services safely, effectively and efficiently while remaining strategically aligned with the values and vision of the Union Select Board.
The Union Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, operations, and management of 44 miles of town roads, five cemeteries, and all public parks and recreational areas. During the winter season the Public Works Department is responsible for snow and ice control on an additional 11.5 miles of state-aid roads. All staff members of Public Works Department strive to provide dependable services with a focus on quality, environmental compliance and responsiveness.
