Green Space Committee
Mission Statement
“Preserve and enhance open space, recreational and trail opportunities in Union. Increase public awareness of present and future opportunities, while fostering environmental awareness in our community and working lands.”
This committee should reflect a well-rounded, diverse representation of our community to best serve the interests of all. The selected Committee members should strive to meet the intent of this statement.
Duties & Powers
The Committee shall: Advise the Select Board & Town Staff on matters pertaining to the planning, development, management, and financing opportunities of green space, recreational and trail opportunities for the benefit of the residents of Union.
Meeting Dates/Times
Meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of alternating months (January, March, May, July, September and November). Time and location to be determined by the Committee Chair. Additional meetings may be added as deemed necessary by the Committee. The Committee shall keep minutes of all its meetings, and the Recording Clerk must file all minutes and meeting materials with the Town Clerk (e.g. agenda, approved minutes, supporting documents, etc.).
The Committee shall adopt rules and regulations for the transaction of its business, which shall be subject to Select Board approval.
