Open Burning Permits

Burning Permits are available online or in person at the Fire Station, 567 Common Road, when staff are available.

Online permits for burning (after 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday) can be obtained through the Maine Burn Permit System.

Cooking fires and fires in constructed fireplaces/pits on the property owner's land do not require a permit if they are less than 3 feet in diameter on the ground and at the base of fire or 3 feet in height. Note: these fires cannot be debris burns.

NO burn permits will be issued on days that have a high fire danger rating, Class 3 or above.
