Tuesday, November 5, 2024 Special Town Meeting and State of Maine General and Referendum Election

Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (anyone in line by 8:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote).
Polling Location: Town Office Building, 567 Common Road, William L. Pullen Municipal Building Meeting Room (rear of building)

 

ABSENTEE VOTING

GENERAL INFORMATION

State law permits absentee ballots to be cast at any election by any voter who properly requests a ballot. If a voter is interested in voting in a particular election, but is unable to go to the polling place on election day, then the voter should an obtain an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots become available the Town Clerk's Office (567 Common Road) thirty (30) days prior to the election.

REQUESTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT

Union voters wishing to obtain an absentee ballot can order their ballots now by one of three options:

    1. Order via website (only when there is also a State election being held) https://www1.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl

    2. Mail or deliver the absentee request form to the Town Office.

    3. Call the Town Office at 785-3658 to request an absentee ballot.

The statewide deadline to request an absentee ballot is by 4:00 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the election (check our hours). Please request and return your ballot early enough to allow for postal mail delivery time.

IN PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING

Voters wishing to cast an absentee ballot may do so in person at the Town Clerk's Office, 567 Common Road.

RETURNING YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT

All completed absentee ballots must be received in the Town Office by 8:00 p.m. the day of election. You can return your ballot a few ways:

  1. BY MAIL – Please request and return your ballot early enough to allow for postal mail delivery time. Please factor in time both to have the ballot mailed to you and have it mailed back (at least 5-7 days each way).
  2. OUTSIDE DROP BOX – Look for the red, white, and blue absentee ballot drop box at the Town Office entrance, 567 Common Road. This is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is secure and locked.
  3. IN PERSON – The Town Office at 567 Common Road.

EARLY ABSENTEE VOTING AT THE TOWN OFFICE

The Town Office’s Absentee Early Voting Polling Place will be set up in the Town Office and is open thirty (30) days before the election.
