TOWN OF
UNION – PUBLIC WORKS NOTICE
Road Closure Notice – Bump Hill Road
Date: Wednesday, August 19, 2026
The Town of Union Public Works Department will be
performing a culvert replacement on Bump Hill Road on Wednesday,
August 19. This project involves replacing a deep culvert beneath the
roadway and is a necessary infrastructure improvement.
Our goal is to keep the road open to single-lane
traffic for as long as possible during construction. However, due to
the nature of the work, there will be an estimated two-hour period,
from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., when Bump Hill Road will be completely closed to
both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The closure area is between
Sidelinger Road and Stone Road.
Public safety is our highest priority. Union Public
Works has coordinated with Union Fire & Rescue to ensure
emergency access is maintained throughout the project. If an emergency response
is required during the road closure, materials will be immediately available to
backfill the excavation, allowing Fire & EMS personnel to
pass through. This backfilling process will begin as soon as Union Fire &
Rescue receives an emergency call.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we
complete these necessary upgrades to our community's infrastructure. Thank you
for your cooperation as we work to improve the safety and reliability of our
road system.
