PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
William L. Pullen Municipal Building Meeting Room

 

Notice is published that the Select Board of the Town of Union will hold a Public Hearing on the 2025-2026 Annual Town Meeting Warrant to obtain public comment on the proposed articles.

 

THE ENTIRE WARRANT AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION IS ON FILE WITH THE TOWN CLERK AND MAY BE REVIEWED AT THE OFFICE OF THE TOWN CLERK, AT 567 COMMON ROAD, UNION, DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS (8 AM – 12:00 PM AND 12:30 PM TO 4:00 PM, MONDAY - THURSDAY) OR ONLINE AT WWW.UNION.MAINE.GOV. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE PUBLIC HEARING AND WILL BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD AT THAT TIME.

 

MAINE DOT

The Maine Department of Transportation will be paving Route 17 in Jefferson and Union. There are two work areas:

The first project area begins approximately at Shepard Road and extends northwest 3.5 miles.

The second area lies approximately between West Washington Road and extends northwest for approximately 4.8 miles. This work will update the guardrail and improve drainage.

Work will begin on Monday, April 28, and is scheduled to be finished by June.

Drivers may encounter a single-lane, alternating traffic pattern. The contractor for this work is All States Construction of Richmond. The contract amount is $3.2 million.
